This is what makes me feel better

After a very shitty week at work, where I was constantly getting angry customers who just would NOT accept that store policy is store policy, and I was working very long hours which did not make me happy either. I had to constantly explain to customers that I'm sorry customer, but NO, I cannot give you cash back for something you do not have a receipt for especially since it is broken. I do not care how much you are going to rant and rave about this is how you paid for it and how I'm just a f***ing bitch because I'm not being fair. Honestly it is making me close down and not want to help you even more. I will give you two very specific examples of how I wish I could treat the customer how I felt they should be treated.

Customer #1

Girl walks up to cash ring plops down a sweatshirt on the counter and immediately starts this conversation with an attitude. She explains, very angrily, that she was given this sweatshirt for Christmas, and therefore does not have a receipt. To top it off she shows me that the sweatshirt’s zipper has been broken and she does not have any tags for it. So I explain the store policy to her, that since she does not have a receipt I can only give her the lowest price within 30 days and it can either be on a store CC or on a store gift card. This is a policy to obviously reduce the occurrences of people shoplifting items and then returning them to us for money. She mutters about this with a dashing of the word f*** and the many ways you can change that word and I give her another option. You can return the sweatshirt and use the 30 day low price towards another sweatshirt or maybe just get the same one for an even exchange. I excuse myself to find the sweatshirt so I can tell her the 30 day low price. She follows me and when I grab the same sweatshirt she sees one she likes better, I do not know why this girl is shopping in the men’s department first off….I know we sell interesting sweatshirts, but we do carry very similar things down stairs for girls!, and proceeds to ask me can she just get the one in her hand instead…with her attitude. I say it wouldn’t be an even exchange because I just found out the sweatshirt she is returning is now on clearance and the one she wants is about $40…..not a very even exchange in my or my work’s eyes. She gets very angry about this and storms back to the register and I tell her how much she can get back for the sweatshirt. She wants it back in cash and I explain that is a no go…..she gets angry at me because I, yes me personally, sold her a sweatshirt that broke….because you know me, on my days off work I like finding people who I’ve sold items to and breaking them! It is just oh so much fun! I explain that I was sorry this happened restate her options and say these are store policy. She storms off after using her most favorite word a couple more times towards me. Then returns with her father, who is so much calmer than her, explains the situation a little bit more and I explain the options to him again. Being the smart cookie he is he ask “If we find the receipt can we get what we paid for it then” I happily answer yes, of course you can do that! It actually gives me many more options on what I can do if you have the receipt. He walks away happy with his still swearing daughter.

Customer #2

After coming to work in not such a happy mood, I come in expecting to work in the much smaller kids department and am told I’m not on the schedule and should talk to the manager in men’s……who tells me I’m supposed to straighten till further notice. So I’m folding shirts minding my own business up to my ankles in these stupid “novelty tees” and an older woman and what I can assume was her daughter approach me. They want to know the price of the shirt. I calmly explain that I can’t really tell them the exact price of the shirt because I don’t have a scanner, but I can give them an estimate by using the price on the tag. Well….it doesn’t have a tag. I tell them this and say maybe they should take it to a cash wrap to have it looked up….they do not like this and ask why don’t I just us a scanner, because I have a scanner right? *points to above mentioned statement* I tell them I’m going to attempt to find a similar if not the same shirt…..I fail at finding the same shirt so I find something very similar shirt and tell them. Take this to the cash wrap over there and if they can’t find the price to the shirt they can use this as the ringing prices. They get upset with this….and ask to see a manager, I look around spot one, they rush away and TATTLE ON ME. WTF?!?!?!?!?! I try and help these women explain how everything works after they refuse to go to a cash wrap and they are upset with my impromptu solutions?

So that was my week in a nutshell…..it was horrid. Then I get this very pleasant customer the other day. She points out that she was overcharged for some shirts and is still very pleasant about it. Everything is going super and I help her out she notices that she is entitled to a $5 gift card since she was overcharged, actually her son pointed it out to her, and she turns it down! She says to her son that “because this girl is being so helpful and correcting all the mistakes I don’t need that.” I feel like bursting out in tears for finally some one being nice to me. Everything is nice and she even stops by the cash wrap on her way out and thanks me again and wishes me a good night. Well day later my mom comes home and asks me “Did you help a Muslim woman who looks like…” and I get confused and say yes…..turns out this woman is my mom’s friend from her bus ride to work! And on the bus she was actually talking to my mom about me and how happy she was with my service! My mom asks her to describe the girl who helped her and tells her “That’s my daughter!” ….it made me feel so appreciated that I helped this woman out like I should and she goes and gushes to her friend, who just happened to be my mom, so it like came full circle and I got to feel an almost immediate good vibe from being nice. It makes me feel like I want to continue to be nice to people just keep trying to brighten random people’s day with a smile or something like that hopefully that they can pass on. These small things make it worth it.

Yes, it is the sad truth that in my obsession to get awesome grades this semester I have secluded myself to my room a great deal of time. Though on the funnier note I am participating and meeting more people this semester. I am currently participating in four clubs Ballroom club, Japan club, China club, and International club. I am the student director of the campus performance of Rocky Horror Picture Show, which makes me go to the programming board meetings. Then because I might as well I decided one night I represent Ballroom club at Belcon, the student body thingy. I also work at the Intercultural Center, where all the people who work in the department of intercultural affairs work. I feel important and yet like I'm not doing enough at the same time.
I have wonderfully finally settled on one mold for the MNF I would like to get in the near-distant future. Miyu so unless fairyland comes out with a much better mold....like the mold of my dreams I will get her.

Anything else I have to tell you people of peoples. I need to take dolly pictures T0T

College and wonderin

So I'm officially back at college and add drop day is tomorrow. I got most of my books which have almost cost me $200 total, I'm sure I can break $200 tomorrow when I go pick up the last two. My new roommate is awesome and from China (again yay!) and we exchanged the secret mandatory "meet your roomie" gifts. I gave her an unazukin and she won the contest by giving me a 2008 Nini Olympic plushie, compact mirror from Russia, and now a really awesome fold up reusable shopping bag.

OMG! She just walked up to me in a mudd mask trying to talk, but she couldn't because it hardened and her face is kinda stuck like that till tomorrow. That was awesomely hilarious and made my day.

Back to school my goal is to get a 3.0 or higher while doing all my commitments! So for my class load I've got Second year Japanese, First Year Chinese, Japanese Ghost and Monsters (this one was really hard to get into), and Education in a Democratic Society. Hopefully because my roommate is Chinese and her friend will be TAing for most of the Japanese classes I'll be able to do it. I mean two As and two Cs = a 3.0 right? Just kidding I'd love to get a 4.0 though.

The positive side of coming back to college is I got to temporarily quit my job. Which I needed to do because the drama was coming up. One girl was stealing commission, one girl was being an absolute bitch, and one of the new people got fired and we didn't get told a reason (the manager likes to gossip so a zipped lip from her means something). Unfortunately with leaving that job there also goes my awesome paycheck. I will be lucky to get 5 hours a week here and at minimum wage that equals $131 a month if I'm lucky. This is gonna be fun.

On the side of doll news I finally found a home for my Tezca pre-order thanks to the lovely Mayonaka being a sport and wanting the doll from me. I will it seems be keeping Jade because my split partner feel through last minute and it seems like most people have found split partners as well. I mean.....in all honesty I guess it isn't that bad? My guy numbers were really growing thin and he may be decent rewigged. If not I can sell him later down the road. I still need to scale down my Pullip numbers and am seriously considering if I want to let my Lan Ake go....she was a mild grail doll for me (not as much as Mercu) and I finally got her, but.....I feel like she doesn't fit in to the collection currently. I guess I'll keep an eye on her price and make a choice based on that.

The whole reason of focusing sooooo much on money is half because I'm falling for the idea of owning an MSD mainly MNF Serion and Ryeon. Right now Ryeon because there are so many cute clothes on the market for MSD's right now...unlike the Yo-SD sized...I can never seem to find something that I like in stock. The other half is that I'm going to have to buy a plane ticket soon for Japan. Well that is if they let me into the exchange program and I will cry if they don't.

What have I been up to since then? Well I got a new Blythe and if I understood the instructinos right clicking on the picture should take you to my flickr where you can see oh two more pictures.

The best news is I'm using awesome camera more often now. It is a Canon EOS 20D according to dA when I look at the picture stats....not sure if that is good or not. Waiting for a Blythe scalp in the mail so I can work on custom blythe, also resisting the urge to attempt carving...I think that is good, and also wanting to kill JP over the obsene amount of paint they used on the HasH Taeyang...never use as bait.

So I love him to death. I've named him Junpei and overall this doll was a success for JP. Like all the other h.Naoto collaboration dolls his stock is extremely well put together, though the brown pants confuse me so.....really they do...why didn't they make the pants black? or gray? besides that I love this outfit, I've had him out of his box for two days now and I'm still discovering new things about his outfit.

Face-up quality: I'd say overall it is one of the best Taeyang face-ups I've seen. His eyeshadow isn't so thickly put on that you assume he fell out of his mother's make-up box. So that is a major plus...especially since they didn't over due his goth scene style. His lips are an odd gray matte color, but as long as you don't stare at them to much it is all go!

Wig quality: It is good! Finally a decent wig in all the recent releases....I mean it is soft and manageable like a wig that I got off of ebay recently (not really, but it took a super long time to ship). Though it is hard to style because of the two tones in it and not make him look insanely dorky.

My only major complaint about him is the eyechips.....they look like Blythe eyechips, which is probably a step up in quality, but I can almost see the crosses! If they didn't paint the pupils black I know I'd be able to see them.

Now for your reward pictures!

I feel bad for my lj because I seldom update it....maybe I should include life experience with it? How is this? I received the bait head I did in a partial trade and it is actually a rescue head. I'll probably take pictures before I start in on her just to show the vast before and after deal....because at this point anything I do to this head in my views would be an improvement. Now for the happy thing! Pictures of my Hangry Takoyaki!

She's a really awesome Dal and pulls off the pout with her little angry eyebrows. Her lips....a little bit like a ducks bill in color, but I still love it because it works for her. Maybe I should get her a duck suit to be an a** hole.

New Dal bodies are pretty good at posing or maybe it is the fact that I haven't removed the plastic along her knees. I like it all the same and might save myself money and try and keep her body in nice condition.

I definitely like her stock outfit and the hoody is made out of some weird material, but her wig is kinda meh. Maybe I need to wash it a little. Otherwise I'm very happy with her.

You want to return what?

The title comes from a funny incidence at work today when a customer announced that she wanted to return a gift card....I didn't think you could do that. I had to call catalog department (those gals know everything) and even they were confused. In the end I just told her no, but she could use it to pay off her store credit card bill. Luckily she was nice and agreed to that idea. I was happy because due to the weather the store was slow and only the most patient customers were there. The only weird thing I had to do all day was sort through about 500 gift cards (at the very least) to find some credit card brand gift cards because they were some issues. I'm happy to have helped and the lady in the cash room was super nice and gave me a lollipop for helping her. Apparently I'm a very popular person to have helping other departments or people in general because everyone thinks I have an extremely positive attitude.
This helps greatly because I can see other departments and have fun. I don't particularly like how things are running currently because I don't have my schedule for after x-mas which is about 2-3 days from depending how you look at it. I like the fact though I'm making money for school and I'll have some left over to pay off my pre-orders Hangry, Horizen, and Cinnamonroll....I have to many dollies! I plan on taking some better pictures of Maguna X-mas because I always am working 9-5 so by the time I get off work all the daylight is gone and....unnatural light pictures suck unless you want that yellow colors to your pictures.

MY FEET HURT!!!! The make-up needs to get the last minute clean-up, I'm thinking of adding a little blush because the black eyeliner stuff is kind of washing out her face. Than I get to spray matte her face and add some double lashes XD She's gonna be super sexy and I hope her owner loves her.

Next project will being working on my bait head that I have, I have everything for her, but her face needs some color XD and than I had a stupid moment where I grabbed another nude doll for cheap because well, it's Stica, and I love her eyechips because I'm thinking of shoving them in Prunella when she comes because her original eyes suck! Also I've got a funny photo shot coming up and her wig is perfect! So I'll either keep her stock or I'll use her as a bait idea I had awhile ago.

Though a tad violent because いも killed the last snail that was in there with him. Maybe one day I'll have a better camera so I can get detail shots of him, if he lives that long. It seems logical and they were prettier than goldfish for options and I wasn’t going to pay $45 for that blowfish that was making faces at me.....I’m a sucker for animals making faces at me.....or I’m just simple.

I’m proud of myself for branching out a little and went to hang out with some people on the floor. I’m very anti-social because.....I don’t know, but I actually left my room to hang with people for a good 3 hours. Though it made me realize that I have to make my room feel more welcoming because I have so much empty space in here since my old roommate left. We shall see what I decorate with, but I don’t have the balls yet to put out my dolls.

The thing that is bugging me is I’m starting to develop an attitude when it comes to dolls, not a very good one either. It’s one of those feelings that come with being in the hobby a long time, but I haven’t been in it very long. Many things I know is due to stumbling into the right people when I was very new and finding things out fast so I didn’t end up with a lot of newb dolly mistakes like.....I don’t know body staining or dolly melt. Than again a lot of things are common sense if you think more than a minute. I should definitely be nicer when looking at some dolls, sure some are just plain wrong, but it’s not the dolls fault. I should get another hobby so I don’t obsess over this or start picking up art again; I just need something to split time so I don’t do something stupid like yell at certain newbies who are saying the dumbest things without bothering to search for the answer. I’m sure I did it, actually I’m pretty sure I’ve made stupid posts, but I stopped fairly fast and they should to before I say “fuck the kittens and rainbows someone needs a boot up the ass.”

And there is the rant/whatever I should really find something that occupies my time so I don’t write journals or do those poll things. It would start a very bad cycle.

I felt bad because my camera died in the middle of it.....I would take pictures tomorrow, but I have to track down a work study job and find out the progress of the one I applied for.
